Ques. Your panel (number of interviewers/their background/other details):
There were three interviewers, one from each institute.

P2 – From IIM-Calcutta
P3 – From ISI, Kolkata
Please mention details of your interview (Please elaborate as much as possible. This will help future aspirants in the same way past years’ interview experiences helped you this year)
Mine was quite a grilling experience. It started at 4:30 pm sharp and ran for around 30-35 minutes.
P1 – Good Afternoon (P2 took over)
P2 –
- P1 just greeted you good afternoon and not a good evening. Was he right?
- How it is decided whether to greet a good afternoon/evening. (according to him, between 12:00 to 4:30 pm is afternoon, and from 4:31 pm we start calling it evening)
- Why PGDBA?
Then some counter-questions on this after I explained my reasoning for the above question
- So working with market leaders(Cisco) has no significance to you?
- Why do you think you would be a better analyst than a software engineer?
- Why do you think it is the right time to switch career paths?
P3 –
Asked one question on definite integration(added in the Mathematics section), then P1 took over.
P1 –
- They asked what product I am working on in Cisco.
- What technology is it using?
- What is my role or what I am responsible for in the product?
Over to P2 again…
P2 – Apart from job, any extracurricular activities are you involved in or like to follow?
Told them that I am learning the basics of stock markets and also follow and play badminton daily.
P2 –
- Compare the playing style of Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu.
- Has PV Sindhu ever played against Lin Dan?
- Who was the Spanish player which Sindhu lost to in the Olympic finals (told them, Carolina Marin)
- Apart from the Olympic final, Sindhu has lost to her in 1 or 2 more finals; why do you think Sindhu keeps faltering against her?
Overall, P2 grilled me a lot while P1 and P3 were chill.

The study material of AI Monks is quite good. Helped me to cover basics (especially about statistics).
