PGDBA 2024-26 Admission Process

We don’t expect any significant change in the PGDBA 2024-2026 batch admission process.

Usually, the admission process consists of three stages – the application stage, followed by a written round, followed by the final interview round. Each of the stages is a shortlist stage except for the application stage. Approximately, 1500 aspirants applied for the course in 2015, 2100 in 2016, 3000 aspirants in 2017 and 4000 aspirants in 2018, and 4500 in 2019 for a total of 60 available seats in the course.

Aspirants first need to fill out the application form which costs INR 2500/- (INR 1250/- for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD categories).

The online application process is yet to open but is expected to open in January 2024.

Which institute will conduct PGDBA 2024?

PGDBA 2022 was conducted by IIT Kharagpur and PGDBA 2023 was conducted by ISI Kolkata, so PGDBA 2024 will be conducted by IIM Calcutta.

PGDBA Fee

The application fee for PGDBA 2023 form was INR 2,500/- (INR 1,250/- for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD categories). The application fee for PGDBA 2024 is also expected to be same.
Total course fee for PGDBA 2023-2025 intake was INR 2,500,000 which students usually have to pay in four equal installments.

Exam Pattern

There are 50 questions in the PGDBA exam comprising 3 sections. Below is the split of questions by each section:

Eligibility Criteria (as per PGDBA 2023 criteria)

• A candidate must hold a graduate/postgraduate degree with any of the following: with CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale or at least 60% marks in the Qualifying Degree(B.E./ M.Sc./ M.Com./ B. Tech. or equivalent) or 10+2+4/10+2+5/10+2+3+2. One-year MBA will not be considered equal of M.Com/M.Sc.
• Candidates with 10+2+3(Engineering diploma)+3(lateral entry into B.Tech./B.E.) with r CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale or at least 60% marks in the Qualifying Degree (B. Tech./ B.E.), or with 10+2+4(B.Sc.) with CGPA 6.5 on a scale of 10 points or at least 60% marks in the Qualifying Degree (i.e., B. Sc.), or with B.Com. + CA with at least 60% marks (Intermediate and Final examinations of the CA considered together) are also eligible.
• For candidates with Person with Disabilities (PwD) and SC/ ST category, the eligibility shall be a CGPA 6.0 on a 10-point scale or qualifying marks of 55%.
• If the awarding Institute provides marks in the CGPA system, the CGPA of the degree will not be converted into percentage marks. The Institute shall consider their admission based on the CGPA awarded in the transcript. The candidate’s eligibility will be based on the equivalence of the CGPA on a 10-point scale if the CGPA score is on a different scale than 10.

Reservation Policy

According to the Government of India (GOI) stipulations for SC/ST/EWS/NC-OBC and Person with Disabilities candidates. The candidates must submit the certificate issued on or after April 01, 2022, in the case of NC-OBC & EWS. This is as per the admission process of PGDBA 2023. Details for PGDBA 2024 will be updated once made available by the admission committee.

Additional Score for Women and Transgender

For women and transgender candidates, an additional 2 marks will be awarded as the gender diversity score. This score will be added to the written marks score to shortlist students for Personal Interviews. This additional score will NOT be considered for the final selection.
