Admission Process
NIT, Trichy grants admission to MTech students through counseling based on the score obtained in the GATE.
Eligibility Criteria
- The eligibility criterion of which is qualifying B.E. or B.Tech in either stream of IT/ Physics/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Science/ Operations/ Electronics/ Instrumentations/ Economics/ Commerce/ Computer Application with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks and above from a recognized university.
- The Institute shall give preference to candidates with GATE score in 2017 over candidates having a score of 2018/2019.
- The candidates should have passed & obtained at least 6.5 CGPA for Gen/ OBC or 6.0 CGPA for SC/ST in qualifying degree.
- In case you are awaiting the result of a qualifying degree, the Institute will permit a provisional admission to a candidate, given they can meet above minimum qualifying degree requirements.
- The candidates who possess certification from any professional societies (IE, ICE, IETE, AeSI, IIChemE, IIM, IIE) and have enrolled on or before May 31, 2013, are also eligible.
