Google is partnering with Theta Labs to help the video delivery network onboard users with the use of Google Cloud.

Google, the tech giant, is helping Theta with the launch of its Mainnet 2.0, as a part of the partnership, said Theta Labs CEO, Mitch Liu.

Google cloud developer advocate Allen Day said that he can’t offer specifics about the technical direction Theta will take, but that Google will be the right partner.

Theta is staking 5million Theta tokens(around $2.4 million) for Google, which will become the protocol’s fifth external validator node. Other than Google, Binance, Blockchain Ventures, and Gumi Cryptos have joined Theta as external enterprise validators. The company aims to include a total of 31 external enterprise validators. Google Cloud will participate in the security and governance of the network and will become Theta’s preferred cloud provider.

Aside from this, Theta plans to collaborate with Google’s machine learning, artificial intelligence, and big data initiatives. The company also plans to use Google-owned YouTube’s internally developed video delivery and streaming technology for easier experimentation.
Theta provides a reliable, high-performance video delivery network that needs reputable node operators to ensure security protocols.

Theta creates a massive decentralized mesh network of relayers by rewarding network participants as they relay video content to other users with the use of spare bandwidth and computing resources.
This is how Blockchain technology is going mainstream and will play a significant role in content delivery.
