Robochamps, an Indian ed-tech start-up, works on introducing kids to early AI education. The start-up recently launched online courses in coding robotics in multiple languages such as English, Hindi, Punjabi, and Gujrati.
The company stated in an official release that it would provide free courses to kids living in rural areas belonging to age groups of 6 to 17 years.
The start-up has seen a surge in the number of inquiries since the launch of its English course, with the website receiving a 3 million footfall.
Robochamps aims to penetrate rural and semi-urban markets in India with the use of language localization and plans on launching courses in other local languages as well.
The company uses robotics and other digital methodologies to enable students to get hands-on practice in STEM Subjects. The start-up will guide children in their careers with the help of webinars and collaboration with famous academicians.
CEO and Founder of Robochamps, Akshay Ahuja, believes that India’s rural market contributes hugely to the digital revolution, and local language content leads to the Internet boom in rural India.
Robochamps’ motto is to create young AI millennials in rural India and enable them to develop apps, robots, and other innovations to minimize human intervention. The next step is to cover 150 cities across India by the end of the year and reach two lakh students in the next month.
At present, the company operates in an offline classroom model but will soon shift to an online medium.
Rural India had 227 million active internet users. In contrast, urban areas had 205 million users, as of November 2019, out of which 71million are kids in the age group of 5 to 11 who access the internet from their family members’ devices.
