Knowledge constitutes a significant part of all Organisations. They store it in different forms and formats and distribute it across public and private data, making it difficult for an employee to collect, gather, and access data when needed. Microsoft Research Cambridge(MRC) is looking for individuals with diverse backgrounds in ML, social science, design, and engineering to partake in a virtual focus group to know how the workplace uses knowledge.
This project aims to build a system that automatically collects and organizes information into a shared “network of knowledge” using Artificial Intelligence(AI). A technology like this could help keep related content in one place, find relevant subject matter experts, and discover business assets that already exist for reuse in a new context.
Denise Wilkins, a Researcher, explains that MRC undertakes a human-centered approach that helps generate innovative designs for new user experiences that meet real needs and solve real problems and knowledge challenges that people face in the workplace.
Hence, Artificial Intelligence comes into the picture. With its help, MRC plans to design new experiences to deliver insights and expertise in the apps that people use for everyday work. AI could also be used to allow experts to curate and share knowledge effortlessly, and deliver it to people just in time, making it transparent and accessible to the organizations.
