Chairman of Digi.Com Bhd (Digi), Haakon Buruaset Kjoel, in the 2019 annual report, said, the company shall invest in network solutions to support advanced technologies such as 5G, artificial intelligence, & internet of things.
The company shall achieve this while maintaining its core network and IT service excellence to provide better customer experiences.
By considering the corporate focus on digitalization, telecommunications shall continue to evolve with considerable opportunities through 5G, AI & IoT.
“Drawing on our expertise and assets, we remain steadfast to seize these opportunities and pursue what is sustainable for our business.”
“Therefore, we will deliver on our strategy while being equally resolute to be having with the highest standards of integrity and staying focused on people development,” Haakon said while talking about the companies priorities for 2020.
The group is working towards optimally realizing significant benefits of 5G for Malaysia.
Based on the 2019 annual report, they have re-framed the spectrum to deliver more robust indoor and outdoor coverage and improved network capacity.
“We have actively re-farmed our diverse spectrum portfolio to deliver a stronger, more consistent 4G network experience for our customers, supported by an expanded fiber network footprint by 9,610KM,” said Digi.
In partnership with Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM), the National Fiberisation and Connectivity Plan (NFCP)’s aspires to provide quality and affordable connectivity nationwide.
“The collaboration enables Digi customers to enjoy affordable internet access across 7,000 WIFI hotspots nationwide”, additionally stating that huge strategic investments have been made over the past two years, ensuring the timely rollout of 5G for the future.
