India joined Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI), an international multi-stakeholder initiative on AI, as a founding member<\/strong> on Monday. Other members of the initiative include the UK, USA, EU, Canada, Australia, France, Italy, Germany, Mexico, Japan, Newzealand, Singapore, and the Republic of North Korea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The GPAI will focus on responsible AI, the future of innovation, and work, commercialization, and data governance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GPAI aims to support the responsible development and use of AI,<\/strong> revolve around human rights, diversity, inclusion, economic growth, and innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By using the experience and diversity of participating countries, the initiative’s objective <\/strong>is to understand the challenges and opportunities around AI. The IT ministry claims that the initiative can achieve this goal by bridging the gap between practice and theory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative helps collaborate experts from different industries to promote responsible AI evolution. Also, find ways to leverage AI to tackle the global crisis at hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and two Centres of Expertise, one in Paris and Montreal<\/strong>, will support the initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The IT Ministry launched the National AI Strategy<\/strong> and National<\/strong> AI portal of India <\/strong>last month: a digital platform for India’s AI-related developments. The platform is leveraging AI across various sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
