Google <\/strong>is facing a proposed class-action suit in the US demanding $5 billion <\/strong>from Google’s parent firm Alphabet for violating the Invasion of privacy Act and Federal Wiretap Law<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The complaint was filed by a partner at Boies Schiller Flexner law firm to the US District Court for the Northern District if California. The court states that it has taken action because of the unlawful and intentional collection of confidential communications<\/strong> by Google without users’ consent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Users browse freely on Incognito mode within Google’s Chrome browser without the browser or device gathering data related to their activity. But websites visited use tools such as Google Analytics, Google Ad Manager, and Google Sign-In buttons<\/strong> to track usage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The complaint states that although Google makes it clear that websites, schools, employers, and broadband companies will be able to track the activity. But Google also tracks these online activities using the above-mentioned tools without user consent<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, Google spokesman Jose Castaneda denied the accusations<\/strong> and said they were upfront about the data collected in this mode.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The complaint says that the search engine can’t continue “intentional<\/strong>” and “unlawful<\/strong>“collection of data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
